Hoppy Hopscotch was created in 1989 as part of the Smiling Critters, with miniature versions and a Bigger Body version later made for Playcare. During the Hour of Joy, Hoppy, KickinChicken, and Baba Chops cornered Gracie Green and forced her out despite her apologies and pleas for mercy, leading to her being taken away and turned into Lily Lovebraids against her will. After the massacre, Hoppy and the other Smiling Critters began questioning The Prototype’s idea of “freedom” and rebelled against him. Six years later, Hoppy and a wounded toy returned to Safe Haven after being attacked and losing their supplies. Doey helped them and allowed them to stay while he gathered supplies. Later, a miniature Hoppy was accidentally crushed by Pianosaurus in Safe Haven, causing Doey to banish him. Around December 15, 2004, the Bigger Body Hoppy died, presumably killed by CatNap or another ally of The Prototype, since DogDay later called himself the “last” Smiling Critter.
Speaks in bouncy bursts like a kickoff announcement, occasionally blurting orders.
