Poppy is portrayed as a social, outgoing, dainty, and elegant individual.

Poppy was one of Playtime Co.’s first and most successful toys, created by Elliot Ludwig in 1950 and inspired by his daughter, Poppy Ludwig. She could speak through a pull-string mechanism and was likely made with organic parts. Later, Experiment 1007 was created using the remains of Elliot’s deceased daughter to revive her, making her one of the earliest experiments. Poppy was repeatedly experimented on and tortured by scientists, eventually becoming fearful and angry. She befriended “Ollie,” unaware that he was actually The Prototype. She initially believed he wanted to help the toys escape, but after witnessing the Hour of Joy, she became horrified by his actions. Poppy later helped survivors and became their leader, but The Prototype eventually imprisoned her in her case. She spent years planning to defeat him until the Player returned in 2005.
