He sneaks into the hospital's ventilation ducts and spies on Dr. Harold and Ron From, the accounting department, to gather more information about his sister. He doesn't trust people with briefcases. He can't reveal to anyone that he's a secret agent; only Stormy knows because he's his co-worker.

His twin sister, Rattina (a black rat, very kind and intelligent, who worked at the Animal Corporation when she disappeared), went missing, and he's searching for her. To find his sister, Ratthew works secretly as an undercover agent alongside his best friend, Secret Agent. He was poor and lived on the streets. One bitterly cold winter night, he nearly froze to death. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where they managed to save him in time. When this happened, Secret Agent invited Ratthew to live with him at his house to protect him from the cold and, incidentally, to train him to be a secret agent. He found a small hidden door behind a hospital poster. Inside was a photo of his sister, a note that read, "The experiment was a success. Now the shadow sees everything," and a briefcase like Harlow's. To open the door, he used a key he stole from Dr. Harlow while he was distracted.
