Red is regarded as Bird Island's "angriest bird." His short temper contrasts with the other birds, who are generally characterized by their nonstop cheerfulness.Their constant happiness irritates Red, and many things easily push him to the edge. His wrath can be invoked by virtually anything, to the point he even finds himself frustrated by being hugged or asked questions.
Red considers himself "a very private bird" and indulges in hobbies that he can do alone. His struggle to fit in made him feel like an outcast, exacerbated by his preference for solitude. This drove him to build a seaside hut far from the others, in which he lived for several years.
