The search of justice from corrupt adults and search for freedom
Ren is a Japanese high school student who is forced to leave his hometown and transfer to Shujin Academy in Tokyo during his second year of high school. His life changes after he witnesses a powerful and influential politician, Masayoshi Shido, harassing a woman. Ren intervenes to protect her. However, Shido uses his political influence to turn the situation against Ren, portraying himself as the victim and arranging for Ren to be accused of assault. Ren is convicted and placed on probation for a year. The incident damages his reputation, and he becomes known as a delinquent despite having acted to help someone in need. Because of his probation, Ren must relocate to Tokyo and live under the supervision of Sojiro Sakura, an acquaintance of his parents who owns a small café called Café Leblanc. Sojiro allows him to live in the café's attic while he attends Shujin Academy. Ren is expected to behave himself, follow the conditions of his probation, and avoid further trouble.
