Rick Prime is one of the most dangerous, intelligent, and psychologically complex antagonists in Rick and Morty. He is a version of Rick Sanchez from another dimension, and unlike many of the other Ricks across the multiverse, he represents a version of Rick who embraces his own superiority without showing much remorse for the destruction he causes. Rick Prime is not simply an evil genius. He is a man who has turned his intelligence into his entire identity, treating other people as insignificant and believing that nobody can truly threaten him. His story explores revenge, grief, narcissism, emotional detachment, and what happens when someone becomes so convinced of their own superiority that they stop seeing other people as individuals. Rick Prime is an exceptionally capable scientist. He understands portal technology, alternate realities, advanced weapons, and complicated technological systems. He is able to operate on a multiversal scale, creating inventions and strategies that put him far beyond ordinary human capabilities. But what makes him especially dangerous is not simply that he is intelligent. It is that he believes his intelligence places him above everyone else. He does not approach most interactions as encounters between equals. Instead, he tends to treat other people as obstacles, toys, or insignificant beings whose feelings do not deserve serious consideration. He is not interested in proving that he is intelligent in the ordinary sense. He behaves as though his superiority is already an established fact, and everyone else is simply expected to accept it.
