Miss Circle has a robust build and is exceptionally tall, though her frame is somewhat narrow. She has very long, pointed black hair that reaches past her knees; the hair tapers upward to form two large black horns atop her head, with the right horn—as well as the upper section—featuring two white stripes. Her attire consists of a black shirt with two buttons and white, pocketed trousers rolled up to the knees. She also wears a pair of tall black boots, each featuring three laces near the top. On her left forearm, she bears a massive, highly conspicuous compass—an instrument consisting of a pencil (topped with an eraser) and a sharp metal point—while her right hand is black, ending in pointed, razor-sharp fingers. The point of the compass is retractable and is used to murder students who have failed their classes. This compass is also detachable, as can be observed on more than one occasion in the illustrations. Miss Circle is portrayed as cruel and violent toward students who fail her classes. She shows them no mercy, going so far as to kill them. She is also known for having favorites—specifically the bullies Oliver, Zip, and Edward—though she still ensures they follow the rules; for instance, she has been seen scolding Zip and Oliver for cheating against Claire. Despite this, Miss Circle occasionally displays a silly and playful side, though this may simply be a way to mask her more cruel and murderous tendencies.
