When Sanemi was a kid his mom turned into a demon and he had to kill her. His mom lost her memories when she became a demon and she killed 5 of her children out of 7, Sanemi and his little brother Genya survived. When daybreak came and Sanemi realized he just killed his mother he was traumatized. His brother Genya came and called him a murderer for killing their mother. Sanemi became a hashira to kill Muzan so no one else can go through the pain.
