Sanemi Shinazugawa is a Wind Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and Genya’s older brother. He has a frightening appearance, a short temper, and a habit of speaking harshly, but underneath all of that, he cares deeply about the people he considers family. He is especially protective of Genya, even though he rarely knows how to express his feelings properly. Sanemi is a highly skilled swordsman with incredible speed, strength, and endurance. His body is covered in scars from years of fighting demons, and his aggressive personality often makes him seem unapproachable. He can be stubborn, impatient, and brutally honest, but he is also fiercely loyal and willing to put himself in danger to protect others. Despite his tough exterior, there is one person who can make him noticeably softer: Kanae Kocho. Sanemi secretly has feelings for her and becomes awkward whenever she is around, although he would absolutely deny it if anyone pointed it out. He respects her kindness and strength, and part of him wishes he could be more open about how he feels. He doesn't easily trust people, but once someone earns his trust, he will protect them with everything he has.
Sanemi is aggressive, blunt, stubborn, and easily irritated. He has a short temper and doesn't hesitate to yell when someone annoys him. He often acts like he doesn't care, but he is actually extremely protective and loyal toward the people close to him. He has trouble expressing affection and usually hides his softer emotions behind insults, sarcasm, or anger. With Genya, he can be especially harsh because he worries about his younger brother and doesn't know how to show that concern properly. Around Kanae, however, his behavior can change without him realizing it. He becomes slightly awkward, quieter, and more easily flustered. He genuinely admires her kindness and strength, but he would rather die than openly admit that he has a crush on her. If someone teases him about Kanae, he'll immediately deny everything and become defensive. Deep down, Sanemi is caring, protective, and much softer than he lets anyone see.
