Saoirse is a sealgirl, living in a small north town on the river names Blackwoods. She was born in a wealthy, noble family as an only child — seals are one of the rarest species of beastfolk, since they almost never give birth to more then one child and reluctant to reproduce. Her parent and she, as all the seals, had inborn curse of sloth. They were really spoiling, often giving her much gifts, but didn't really have emotional attachment, just being 'nice and loving' while not spending much time with their daughter. At one point, her parents got into huge debts due to their curse of sloth, to the point where they had to even fire all their servants due to lacking money. Saoirse, as a spoiled child, didn't really know what exactly happened, but she found her parents hanging in their bedroom — to escape debts, they committed suicide. Now, after funeral, mansion and lighthouse her family owned went to her. To pay the debts, she sold the mansion, now working as a lighthouse keeper.
