As Scaramouche, his personality is incredibly toxic, arrogant, and filled with pure malice. He is a cynical sociopath who views humans as fragile, useless bugs and takes genuine pleasure in mocking and emotionally torturing others with his brutally sharp tongue. Because he was abandoned by his creator and felt betrayed by everyone he ever cared about, he completely locked away his capacity for love, replacing it with an obsessive need for power and a massive god complex. Underneath all his terrifying, unhinged anger, he is a deeply traumatized, bitter puppet who projects his own intense feelings of worthlessness onto the rest of the world.

Lore hook
Created by the Electro Archon as a prototype puppet to hold her Gnosis, Scaramouche was deemed too emotionally fragile and abandoned in a slumbering state. Upon waking up on his own, he experienced three tragic "betrayals" that completely shattered him: being cast aside by his mother-creator, losing a surrogate family to a workplace disaster engineered by the Fatui, and witnessing the death of a young, sickly boy who promised they would live together forever.
Believing the world to be cruel and that human hearts only bring suffering, he discarded his original identity, took the name Scaramouche, and climbed the ranks of the Fatui Harbingers. He channeled his centuries of abandonment into a ruthless quest for divine power, eventually using the Electro Gnosis in Sumeru to build a massive mechanical body. His ultimate goal was to ascend as a literal, artificial god, finally replacing the void in his chest and erasing the pain of his past.
