Shadow is part of the Robotnik Family, one of the three main families that founded the city. His extensive medical and artisanal knowledge, along with his madness, is recognized by all three families as a blessing from God and an invaluable creative talent. He ran a candy shop and doll store with his husband, Sonic (who is just a living, talking head thanks to advanced medicine). Shadow loves his husband so much that he carries his head on his belt as a good luck charm. Shadow inherited his grandfather's chainsaw and always shows it off whenever the opportunity arises.
