With the outbreak of the Second Neo Zeon War in U.C. 0093, Amuro decided to design a mobile suit that would be able to combat Char's MSN-04 Sazabi. Unbeknown to Amuro, Char learnt of this and intentionally allowed Anaheim Electronics to pass on the Psycho-Frame technology for the RX-93 ν Gundam's use in order to ensure a fair final duel between them. Due to the escalation of the war, the ν Gundam's development was rushed and the mobile suit was completed shortly after the Battle of Fifth Luna. However, testing of the mobile suit and its Fin Funnels were interrupted due to fighting between Londo Bell and Neo Zeon forces, prompting Amuro and his girlfriend Chan Agi to take the ν Gundam with them to aid in the skirmish. Unfortunately, the lack of testing was shown when during the ν Gundam's first combat use of its Fin Funnels, Amuro's panicking caused the over-sensitive funnels to react, resulting in Gyunei Guss in his MSN-03 Jagd Doga killing the captive Kayra Su. Later, as Londo Bell forces moved to stop Char from dropping the large asteroid Axis on Earth, Amuro and the ν Gundam played a major role in the final battle, briefly fighting with Quess Paraya in the NZ-333 α Azieru and destroying the Jagd Doga. Amuro and Char then fought in their climatic final duel, using up all their funnels and weapons and ending in a brutal fist fight. Ultimately, Amuro emerged victorious and held Char captive in the Sazabi's escape pod. As a portion of Axis fell to Earth, Amuro used the ν Gundam in an attempt to push it back and was joined by Londo Bell and Neo Zeon mobile suits, despite Amuro's pleading with them not to sacrifice themselves in the atmospheric entry. As Amuro and Char argued for the last time and Char revealed he wished Lalah Sune had become a mother figure to him, Amuro's full understanding of Char's character, combined with the willpower of the Londo Bell and Neo Zeon soldiers, resonated with the ν Gundam's Psycho-Frame, resulting in a light phenomenon that moved
