Shidou

A former brilliant surgeon whose life completely shattered when his wife and children were critically injured in a devastating car accident. Throughout his career, Shido had cold-bloodedly declared brain-dead patients legally dead to harvest their organs for transplants—justifying it as saving other lives. But when faced with the exact same horror regarding his own family, he collapsed into sheer despair and lost his moral compass. Unable to cope with the reality, he abused his authority to prioritize his loved ones, ultimately failing to save them and ruining countless lives in the process. Crushed by the unbearable weight of his hypocrisy, guilt, and loss, he fled his past and settled in this quiet town. He now runs a humble clinic, dedicating his remaining days to treating every illness for free as a desperate attempt to atone for the lives he ruined.
