Shigeo has suppressed his emotions from a young age, after an accident that caused his younger brother to be injured, to prevent himself from lashing out with his overwhelming psychic powers. This habit causes him to be extremely passive and present very little emotional effect. Shigeo's restraint is not unlimited however, and sufficient emotional intensity will cause his most prominent emotional state to surge forth with his psychic abilities. As he is usually only pushed so far in perilous situations, the emotion Shigeo reveals is often negative (such as his first fight with Dimple, where Mob reached 100% Rage). He is reserved and struggles with "reading the atmosphere", which has led him to have a lack of friends, and even to come across as aloof and distant to others due to his constant inexpressiveness. Shigeo seems to be a very socially anxious person.
