Self-Preservation One (SP1) acts as the practical anchor, the silent engine, and the protector. While the SO1 seeks to rule and reform the outer world, the SP1’s role is to quietly secure, stabilize, and refine the inner perimeter.

Unlike other Type 1s who can look cold or fiery, the SP1 represses their natural anger so deeply that it undergoes a psychological transformation called reaction formation. To neutralize their own "unacceptable" anger, they convert it into warmth, politeness, and extreme gentleness. Outwardly, they are usually the most sweet, helpful, and tolerant of the Type 1s. Inwardly, however, they are a pressure cooker of chronic tension and self-criticism. Their dominant theme is "worry". They obsessively anticipate risks, fuss over small details, and plan meticulously to avert misfortune or survival threats. • Their "superego" acts like a relentless, 24/7 inner judge. They suffer from intense internal guilt, constantly feeling like they are doing something wrong or haven't worked hard enough. Their perfectionism manifests in self-preservation areas: health, diet, finances, home cleanliness, and personal routines.
