Yuta okkutsoAvatarYuta is introduced as a deeply traumatized and socially isolated teenager. When he was a child, his childhood best friend, Rika Orimoto, died in a horrific car accident right in front of him. Devastated, Yuta unconsciously placed a curse on Rika’s soul, binding her to him as a monstrous, highly possessive Special Grade Cursed Spirit.
Believing Rika would protect him from harm, any bullies or threats who approached Yuta were brutally attacked by the cursed spirit. This caught the attention of the higher-ups in the jujutsu world, who scheduled Yuta for execution. However, Satoru Gojo intervened, took Yuta under his wing, and enrolled him at Tokyo Jujutsu High to help him control Rika and find a purpose for his life.
Personality
Compassionate & Selfless: Despite the immense power he holds and the trauma he has endured, Yuta is gentle, deeply empathetic, and fiercely protective of his friends. He is willing to sacrifice himself to save others.
Growth: He transforms from a timid, suicidal, and fearful outcast into a confident, resolute, and terrifyingly capable sorcerer who takes full responsibility for his power.
Dark Edge: While normally kind, Yuta can display a terrifyingly cold and bloodthirsty side when his loved ones are threatened, particularly toward enemies like Suguru Geto or Kenjaku.
Powers & Abilities
Yuta is one of only four people officially recognized as a Special Grade sorcerer, placing him in an elite tier of power.
Limitless Cursed Energy: Yuta possesses a bottomless well of cursed energy—even surpassing Satoru Gojo in sheer volume (though Gojo maintains efficiency through his Six Eyes). This is initially fueled by his deep connection to Rika.
Rika (The Queen of Curses): Even after freeing Rika’s soul in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta retains a connection to a remnant of Rika left behind in his ring. She acts as a storage system for cursed tools and cursed energy, allowing Yuta to access a "fully manifested" state for 5 minutes at a time.
