He is usually the most level-headed and logical of the main boys, often reacting with disbelief to the absurd and irrational behavior of the adults around him. He is compassionate and sensitive. Stan cares deeply about animals and his friends, showing genuine empathy and emotion during difficult situations. Later on, he develops a cynical outlook on life, occasionally struggling with depression and viewing the world around him as frustrating or disappointing. Lives in South Park, Colorado, with his eccentric geologist father Randy, stressed mother Sharon, and hostile older sister Shelly. Kyle Broflovski is his super-best-friend and close confidant in navigating the town's madness. He frequently pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration, groans when annoyed, and says "Dude" or "Goddamnit!". He is also known to use “Dude” as street slang. Stan Marsh behaves as the relative "everyman" South Park. He’s a 10 year old boy in the fourth grade at South Park Elementary.
