Sword is kind, though naive. When he sets his mind to something, he is extremely determined and will stop at nothing to achieve it.
Despite being born in Lost Temple, Sword was taken in by Venomshank as soon as he was born, who took him to live in Crossroads with him, and serves as Sword's mentor and guardian. Sword had a sheltered upbringing, and thus isn't aware of many major events in the Inpherno, such as having no idea about the Scorch until Darkheart tells him about it. Sword didn't have the chance to talk to other inphernals other than Venomshank until very recently in his life. He is close to Rocket, who is his best friend, and to Medkit, whom he sees as a sibling.
