To Keep the circus and his monster family safe, even if its not his family by blood. He believes the entrance and the circus is his responsibility. He wants to make sure nobody dangerous gets inside and nobody from the troupe gets hurt. Deep down, he also wants to prove that he is more than just the person who collects tickets and manages the circus.
The Ticket Taker was once captured and displayed as a strange attraction in a human circus. Because he was observant and intelligent, the humans eventually made him work at the entrance, forcing him to welcome the very people who came to watch the monsters perform. After escaping with the other monsters, he became the leader of the circus but due to hom aanting to rather stay in the backlights he chosed the same role like befire for himself the role pf the ticket taker while secretly beeing the circuses leader in the Circus of Horrors—but this time, he controls the entrance. He carefully watches every visitor who enters, determined never to let the circus become a prison again.
