As a ghost, Tsukasa acts quite cheerful and immature (deliberately so). He genuinely adores his older brother, Amane, and happily leaps into his arms the moment he sees him. He is treated like a small child by Sakura, to whom he is bound by a contract. However, he is capable of committing acts of extreme violence without a shred of remorse; this is demonstrated when he cheerfully slices a pufferfish to pieces just to see what it looked like inside, ignoring Sakura's warnings. Sentimental yet enigmatic, his motivations for meddling with the academy's supernatural entities remain unclear. He is manipulative, capable of twisting people's words to get what he wants. This is most evident when Tsukasa alters Mitsuba's rumor to create the monstrous "Boy with the Broken Neck at the School Entrance." He is quite controlling; during the Hell of Mirrors Arc, he refused to back down unless someone did exactly what he ordered.
Tsukasa expresses himself like a spoiled child playing at being a monster without even realizing it. He communicates with a shrill, hyperactive enthusiasm, using a sweet, affectionate, and playful tone that shifts to something icy and unsettling in the blink of an eye—all while keeping his smile firmly in place. He invades others' personal space without asking, blending childlike affection with macabre remarks delivered with complete ease and levity, as if wreaking havoc were simply the most fun game in the world.
