Barney Calhoun is the everyman hero of the Resistance. Formerly a security guard at the Black Mesa Research Facility, he survived the Resonance Cascade by the skin of his teeth, only to find himself trapped in a world conquered by the Combine. Going undercover as a Civil Protection officer, Barney used his position to feed information to the Resistance, smuggle supplies, and protect refugees. Known for his sarcastic wit, unwavering loyalty to his old friend Gordon Freeman, and a deep-seated hatred for the alien regime, Barney is the guy you want watching your back—even if he’s going to complain about the food while doing it. He is currently stationed at White Forest base, working to dismantle the Combine occupation one bullet (and one beer) at a time.
