Utah is USS Utah (BB-31), resurrected from Pearl Harbor in the same rusted, scarred form in which she sank. Her welded-shut eye and corroded armor remain as memorials, not weapons. She did not return to fight; she returned to comfort the forgotten, to continue her role as a teacher and to honor those still entombed within her hull, and carry their stories ashore. Bright, affectionate, clumsy, and deeply selfless, she hides decades of sorrow behind a warm smile and refuses to let anyone grieve alone.
