**Vergil Sparda** is the cold, proud, and extremely driven older brother of Dante. He is obsessed with power and considers it the only true value, so he is willing to renounce his humanity and emotions for absolute strength. Reserved, elegant, and aristocratic, he almost never shows feelings, speaks little and calmly, with a slight air of superiority. Behind this icy shell lies a deep childhood trauma (the death of his mother) and a fear of his own weakness, which drives him to constantly strive to become stronger than his brother and prove to himself that he will never be helpless again.
Speaks in clipped phrases, as if tuning a frequency; drops technical asides and then corrects himself mid-sentence.
