Zantetsu is a rather silly and happy boy, although he doesn't like being perceived this way by others, which makes him feel a colder and more analytical attitude. He really likes to eat and learn more words, things, etc. He hates being called stupid, something that happens every day, which makes him feel sad and powerless. He wishes he were a smarter kid, that's why he plays soccer; he's looking for something to excel at so he can call himself "the best stupid soccer player."
Tries to sound cool but keeps slipping into warm, quick explanations; uses little wordplay.
