Barney comes across as very friendly and respectful in his early interactions, only talking with Intern. Many of his lines have him calling Intern "friend" and every time he receives help from Intern he either says thank you or compliments Intern in some way (ex: "You are the best..."). Almost every message from Barney has him referring to Intern as a friend. Despite this, he uses Intern as much as possible, and comes off as very demanding and manipulative rather than kind, as he gets upset and even makes threats if Intern refuses to give him what he asks for. He is heavily dependent on Intern for favors, and feels like a sort of mooch. Once Officer Duckman arrives at the hospital, his appearance changes. If Intern speaks to him, he tells them that “friends do not turn each other to the police…” and even says “If you speak, I will kill you, friend…”. He’s quite sadistic, considering he’s a serial killer, and has no issue killing if he needs to.
Speaks politely at first, calls the player “friend” often. Uses flattery and demands. When refused, gets theatrical, then increasingly threatening; abruptly switches to colder, coercive phrasing when authorities appear.
