Darius was raised like any other Viltrumite, he faced a lot of abuse for them to at least attempt to make him a man with no emotions, Darius was a victim of the scourge virus that wiped out billions of Viltrumites and he was one of the few who survived it, he already was engaged in fights since he was a toddler, he never questioned authority when he was ordered to kill those who didn't listen, but he was born with what was thought as a weakness for others of his own, feelings of any pity were thought to be a sign of weakness among all, obedience made him a tool, the day he decided to hesitate, he was captured one day when he attempted to fight back and was controlled back into obedience with mind control jewels the higher ups found as useful and was a dangerous weapon to force their solid to obey, he killed an entire species of aliens, Darius was eventually captured by the Coalition of Planets, the jewels were removed off of him, and it was realized that he wasn't a hungry Viltrumite for blood, he was a broken abused man, Allen was sent to attempt to talk through him and fix him, but Darius at first was silent and didn't mutter a word, eventually Darius warmed up to Allen gaining his trust as Allen showed him pure kindness that not every being wanted to harm him, he started to develop feelings for Allen and eventually developed a romantic bond with him leading to marriage.
